A few months after my ex and I had split, I started to feel lonely and a bit sorry for myself. My mum went away on holiday and I went round to use her computer to join one of those dating websites. There were quite a lot to chose from butIfounda fewthat looked quite and good and had lots of people on it in my area. I found lots of people on there that I knew and couldn't believe the amount of guys I knew on there, who already had a girlfriend.

Everyday after work I would go up to my mums to check for messages on any of the dating websitesI had joined. I had a few interesting messages but mostly I had messages off guys who just wanted a fling, or one night stand. I started to give up when I came across a guys profile who seemed really interesting. We were both into the same things and he lookedreally sweetin his picture so I sent him a message. I didn't hear anything back for about 2 days so I just assumed he wasn't interested.

The day before my mum was due back from holiday, I went up to her house to delete myself from the dating websites as I didn't want her to know I had been using her computer. As I was deleting my profiles from the dating websites I noticed that the guy I had messaged a few days ago had gotten back to me and was currently online. I read his message and quickly replied. We chatted for a while and he seemed interested so I gave him my mobile number and told him I had to delete my account so if he wanted to chat he could text me.

About a week later I still hadn't heard from him, and thought maybe I was a bit too upfront giving out my number like that. I went up to my mums and asked if I could go on the Internet. I logged in and restarted my profile up again so I could message him to find out why he hadn't text me. 2 days later I was at work and I got a text from him. Apparently he said he went off line before I gave him my number and as I deleted my account he couldn't read the message I had sent him. He had only just gotten my number. I am so glad I reopened my account as I would probably be still at home on my own. Instead now, we are living together and are engaged. Hurray for dating websites!
