Cathy had never dreamed that she would be a woman that was very interested in internet dating. In fact, she was a little caught off-guard the first time that someone suggested she give it a try. She immediately started to wonder if she came off as desperate to meet a man - but then she realized that it had been quite some time since she'd had any kind of ongoing relationship and her friends were just trying to help.

Internet dating had actually proven to be a great thing for Cathy. She had always been a shy type and she truly did find it difficult to meet men in places like clubs, bars and restaurants. She always felt like she was being critiqued and picked over and it made her uncomfortable. With internet dating, she found that she could meet and get to know someone without giving off a vibe that she was looking for true love when all she really wanted was someone to dance with or to share a nice meal.

In the months that she'd been dabbling in internet dating, Cathy had met a real variety of men. Some were real gentlemen and others... well, not so much. All in all, though, it was proving to be a whole lot of fun. More fun than she'd had in a long time, if she were to be honest with herself.

Lately, though, one guy had really gotten to her. She found herself thinking about him all the time. At work, she'd realize she'd been fantasizing about meeting him in a hotel somewhere. In her mind, she was actually concocting quite a sexy storyline. She had a vision of booking a hotel room, to which she would invite him, and she'd check in ahead of time and get everything set up. Cathy would blush when she'd snap back to reality and realize that she'd been envisioning herself in some incredibly sexy black lingerie and thigh-high black boots with great stiletto heels. It was so out of character for her but Simon was such a sexual man. Everything about him just oozed intimacy and passion. They had been talking on the phone for awhile, since first meeting via instant messaging on a dating site, and Cathy couldn't get his voice out of her head. He had a voice that could charm the birds from the trees and it gave her butterflies in her stomach every time she heard him say, "Hi baby." She loved that he called her "baby" - it was so sensual.

So, now, as she sat in her car in the parking lot of the nicest hotel in town, Cathy smiled and checked her deep red lipstick in her rearview mirror. Looking at the bag on the passenger seat that contained newly-purchased lingerie, scented oils and candles, she decided that taking a chance on internet dating had been a very, very good thing indeed.
